Make Way for Ducklings

Kids love Google Earth. They love to look for their houses, the school and famous places. There are many lessons that can be completed using Google Earth for all areas, especially social studies and science. I especially like to introduce Google Earth (with my younger grades) using the book--     Make Way for Ducklings by Robert McCloskey, as we read the book we follow their adventure using Google Earth. The students get to follow the journey of Mr. & Mrs. Mallard as they search for a safe place to raise their ducklings. We see the street they walk down, the pond, Beacon Hill, Louisburg Square, the Charles River, etc. Visit Google Lit Trips to take your students on this exciting adventure.
